The fruit can be sliced in advance. Each grapefruit half requires two teaspoons of sugar while the orange halves require 1 teaspoon of sugar. Adjust the sugar according to however many citrus you plan to broil. I prefer homemade whipped crème, however you may prefer storebought, either gets the job done. Pomegranate seeds would be a lovely addition to the toppings.  Ingredients 2 grapefruits 3 oranges sugar whipped crème (see recipe below) mint, freshly chopped Instructions Adjust the oven rack to the highest position. Heat the broiler to high. Slice the grapefruits and oranges, through the center of the fruit creating halves. Then, without cutting through the pith, cut a small portion of the bottom of the citrus to create a flat surface. This will stabilize the citrus and keep if from rolling around. Using a paring knife, separate the pulp from the pith to loosen the fruit. Place the grapefruits and oranges onto a rimmed sheet pan. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of sugar onto the grapefruit halves, and 1 teaspoon of sugar onto each citrus top. Place into the oven and broil for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and let cool for five minutes. Place the fruit into serving bowls, serve with whipped crème and freshly chopped mint. Ingredients *For the whipped crème* 1/2 cup crème fraiche 1 cup cream 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 tbsp sugar Instructions In a chilled mixing bowl add the crème fraiche, whipping cream, vanilla and sugar. With an electric mixer fitted with a whisking attachment, whip the cream mixture on high until soft peaks form, about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes. Place into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days.  ![](https://blog.amigosunited.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Dec-04-2025-08-30-13-4937-PM.png?width=2943&height=5232&name=image-png-Dec-04-2025-08-30-13-4937-PM.png) - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) Topics: [A Pleasant Little Kitchen](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/a-pleasant-little-kitchen) ### Recent Posts ### Main Categories - [A Pleasant Little Kitchen (119)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/a-pleasant-little-kitchen) - [Happy and Nourished (98)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/happy-and-nourished) - [Eat Well Live Well (30)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/eat-well-live-well) - [Chef's Counter (13)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/chefs-counter) - [Day of the Dead, Día de los Muertos (10)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/day-of-the-dead-día-de-los-muertos) - [Easter (6)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/easter) - [Mothers Day (5)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/mothers-day) - [Hatch Chile Season (4)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/hatch-chile-season) - [Hispanic Heritage Month (4)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/hispanic-heritage-month) - [Valentine's Day (3)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/valentines-day) - [Back To School (2)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/back-to-school) - [Cinco De Mayo (2)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/tag/cinco-de-mayo) [See all](https://blog.amigosunited.com/br%C3%BBl%C3%A9e-citrus-with-whipped-cream#) ![Amigos Logo](https://blog.amigosunited.com/hubfs/Amigos%20Blog%202019/AmigosIcon.png) ### Company Information - [About The United Family](https://www.theunitedfamily.com/) - [Careers](https://www.theunitedfamily.com/careers/) - [Commitment to Community](https://www.theunitedfamily.com/donations/) - [Sustainability Promise](https://www.theunitedfamily.com/sustainability/%20target=) - [United Supermarkets](https://www.unitedsupermarkets.com/) - [Market Street](https://www.marketstreetunited.com/) - [Albertsons Market](https://www.albertsonsmarket.com) ### Guest Services - [Shop Online](http://www.amigosunited.com/rs/shoponline/) - [Order Gift Cards](https://www.amigosunited.com/rs/giftcards) - [Order Flowers](https://www.marketstreetflowers.com/) - [Take Our Survey](https://www.amigosunited.com/survey) - [Refill/Transfer Prescriptions](https://ecom.nhin.com/nhin/servlet/EpsEntry?CHAIN_ID=UNITED&STORE_ID=ALL&INIT=YES) - [Contact Us](https://www.amigosunited.com/page/contact) ### Resources - [Nutritional Info](https://www.theunitedfamily.com/nutrition/) - [Online Shopping FAQs](https://www.theunitedfamily.com/contact-us/faqs) - [Email Online Shopping Support](https://www.safeway.com/contactus/contact-us-form/groceryDelivery/?bannerId=unitedsupermarkets) - [Rewards Program](https://www.amigosunited.com/page/savings/rewards) - [Email Rewards Support](https://www.safeway.com/contactus/contact-us-form/commentsAndQuestions/accountUpdate?bannerId=unitedsupermarkets) - [Product Recalls](https://www.theunitedfamily.com/recalls/) - [Coupon Policy](https://www.theunitedfamily.com/coupon-policy/) - [Privacy Policy](https://www.theunitedfamily.com/privacy-policy/) - [Terms & Conditions](https://www.theunitedfamily.com/terms-conditions/) [![](https://blog.amigosunited.com/hubfs/Amigos%20Blog%202019/Insta.png)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/br%C3%BBl%C3%A9e-citrus-with-whipped-cream#) [![](https://blog.amigosunited.com/hubfs/Amigos%20Blog%202019/Facebook.png)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/br%C3%BBl%C3%A9e-citrus-with-whipped-cream#) [![](https://blog.amigosunited.com/hubfs/Amigos%20Blog%202019/Twitter.png)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/br%C3%BBl%C3%A9e-citrus-with-whipped-cream#) [![](https://blog.amigosunited.com/hubfs/Amigos%20Blog%202019/Pinterest.png)](https://blog.amigosunited.com/br%C3%BBl%C3%A9e-citrus-with-whipped-cream#) Download Our Rewards App ![](https://blog.amigosunited.com/hubfs/Market%20Street%20Blog%202019/GooglePlay.png) ![](https://blog.amigosunited.com/hubfs/Market%20Street%20Blog%202019/AppStore.png) ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "VideoObject", "contentUrl" : "https://3894598.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/3894598/Br%C3%BBl%C3%A9e%20Citrus%20with%20Whipped%20Cream%20_%20Instructional%20Video.mov", "dateModified" : "2025-12-04T20:32:05.539Z", "duration" : "PT41S", "height" : 1920, "name" : "Brûlée Citrus with Whipped Cream _ Instructional Video", "thumbnailUrl" : "https://3894598.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/3894598/Br%C3%BBl%C3%A9e%20Citrus%20with%20Whipped%20Cream%20_%20Instructional%20Video.mov/medium.jpg?t=1764880325539", "uploadDate" : "2025-12-04T20:31:49.628Z", "width" : 1080 } ```
